November 2006- Protofab is proud to announce the purchase of a programmable CMM. (ZEISS Contura X= 700 x Y=1000 x Z=600)
August 2006- Protofab invests in climate control. Our machine shop can maintain a constant temperature. "This is the first step for our Quality Control to achieve class 1 and class 2 high tolerance projects," says Mr Maendl President and Found of Protofab. The Scope of this quality project will include a Microscopic De burring station, A QA Lab with a Programmable CMM, an optics measuring system and a complete quality control plan.
June 2006- Protofab upgrades servers and work stations to support the demand for growth.
December 2005- Protofab Purchases one A55 Makino Horizontal Machine Center.
September 2005-Protofab donates to the American Red Cross and Humane Society to support hurricane Katrina victims.
September 2005- Protofab builds new material storage area to reorganize and increase capacity of raw stock inventory.
August 2005- Protofab begins mapping the machine shop. A full inventory of every item is made, listed and mapped in order to improve the new hire introduction curve.The inventory will also serve as a template to implement a min max purchasing system.
July 2005- Protofab's senior programmer Ferdinand Krall and Mike Maendl beta-test FeatureCam Version 12.
June 2005- Protofab upgrades. to version 8.0 of JobBoss shop control software. This significantly improves the quoting process.
January 2005- Protofab welcomes Sheryl Eiberg as our new customer service representative / assistant production manager. Sheryl brings over 20 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
November 2004- Protofab purchases 15000K RPM high precision contour control Kitamura Mycenter 3XI. This machine proves to be the star of the shop!
November 2004- President Mike Maendl of Protofab Inc. meets with President Akihiro Kitamura of Kitamura Japan at JMTOF to study the direction of the machine tool industry. Mr. Maendl also tours Kitamura's manufacturing plant in Takaoka, Japan.
April 2004- Protofab purchases new headquarters in Petaluma at 1310 Stub Road. This 8500 square foot building provides the space to grow freely.
